FACT OF THE DAY: In 1993 there were more than 10,000 1-900 toll numbers in operation, used for everything from phone dating to surfing conditions to recorded celebrity hotlines. Following strict regulations passed by Congress that year, the business dried up. The last carrier dropped 900 numbers in 2012.

Kevin’s been making stuff up for over 35 years, 12 of them as a part of the Austin improv community. He teaches at Merlin Works. He runs the AIC Facebook group and nightly theater listings.
