FACT OF THE DAY: The “9/11 flag,” subject of an iconic photograph as it was raised by three firefighters at the World Trade Center, disappeared soon after 9/11. On October 31, 2014, the History Channel featured the missing flag on the series “Brad Meltzer’s Lost History,” and four days later a man walked into a fire station in Everett WA and delivered it. The man has not been identified, and the flag’s whereabouts for 13 years are as yet unknown.
