FACT OF THE DAY: The Great Pyramid of Giza contains enough stone to build a wall three inches wide and almost 2 feet high around the entire earth. Finished in 2584 BCE after at least 20 years of work, it’s by far the oldest structure on earth that’s still largely intact, and it was the tallest building on earth for over 3,800 years. Until the 14th century, the pyramid was covered in polished white limestone; this was later removed for other construction projects.
