FACT OF THE DAY: Just as the premier was about to cut the ribbon on the Sydney Harbour Bridge on March 19, 1932, a man in military uniform rode up on a horse and cut it with a sword, then yelled that he had opened the bridge in the name of the people of New South Wales. He was promptly arrested, the ribbon was re-tied, and the ceremony continued.
