FACT OF THE DAY: The devil’s advocate was once an official position within the Catholic Church. The advocate’s job was to argue against sainthood for a candidate, to uncover any character flaws. John Paul II abolished the office in 1983, but the practice persists: Christopher Hitchens formally testified against the canonization of Mother Teresa.

Kevin’s been making stuff up for over 35 years, 12 of them as a part of the Austin improv community. He teaches at Merlin Works. He runs the AIC Facebook group and nightly theater listings.
