FACT OF THE DAY: Researchers from CalTech and the Carnegie Institute recently confirmed that the light from KIC 8462852, a star 1481 light-years away from Earth, has shifted irregularly over the past few years in a way completely unique to the star. It has been theorized that artificial alien structures might be blocking the star’s light; in response the astronomers state, “No known or proposed stellar phenomena can fully explain all aspects of the observed light curve.”
