FACT OF THE DAY: In 1993, record label Fantasy Records brought a lawsuit against former Creedence Clearwater Revival lead singer John Fogerty, claiming that his 1984 song “The Old Man Down the Road” was too similar to the 1970 CCR song “Run Through the Jungle.” The judge in the case found for Fogerty, ruling that an artist cannot plagiarize himself.
