FACT OF THE DAY: In 1939, Ronald Reagan played Secret Service agent Brass Bancroft in “Code of the Secret Service.” Nine-year-old Jerry Parr was a fan of the film, and later credited it with his interest in joining law enforcement. Forty-two years later, in 1981, Jerry Parr was the Secret Service agent who shoved Ronald Reagan into his limousine during an assassination attempt.
