FACT OF THE DAY: On Saturday in Vienna, Austria, Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya became the first person in history to run a marathon in less than two hours, finishing in 1:59:40. The run was not an official marathon, since Kipchoge was running a specially-selected course with a variety of special advantages like a pace car and runners forming a “flying V” windbreak in front of him.
