FACT OF THE DAY: Saturn the alligator died on Saturday, aged 83 or 84. Born in 1936, Saturn was taken as a baby from America to live at the Berlin Zoo where he was viewed by Adolf Hitler. Saturn was one of the few animals at the Berlin Zoo to survive the bombing of World War II, and lived wild on the streets of Berlin before being captured by Allied troops in 1946. He was transferred to the Moscow Zoo, where he lived comfortably for another 74 years.
